About the Wakefield Summer Band:
Each year since 2002 the Wakefield Summer Band, under the direction of founder Don Hodgkins, has delighted folks from Wakefield and beyond with their annual concert series on the Lower Common by the bandstand on the shores of the lovely Lake Quannapowitt. There is no charge to attend.
Bring lawn chairs or a blanket, and even a picnic snack or supper to enjoy while the music plays. It’s one of the many happenings that makes Wakefield a great place to live or visit!
In case of rain, the concert takes place in the First Parish Congregation Church, across Lake Ave adjacent to the Lower Common.
The Wakefield Summer Band is a volunteer, intergenerational ensemble open to anyone without an audition, founded to serve our community with a regular series of lakeside concerts during the summer.
